My students need a wide variety of animals to dissect (including earthworms, pigeon, crayfish and squid) in order to fully appreciate our diverse yet similar animal kingdom.

My Students

My students love science, and love to learn new things. This is the first time that Zoology is being offered at our school and my five classes are maxed out. That is how eager they are to learn and be challenged.

The majority of the students in my school come from low income households, but you would never know.

They are willing and eager to learn and be challenged in the classroom each day, which makes my day both fun and challenging. My school prides itself in building a strong community of learners.

My Project

My students in Zoology will dissect these preserved specimens to learn about the animal kingdom. I choose specimens from a wide range of animals in the animal kingdom including bullfrog, mud puppy, turtle and rat, in order for my students to see both the differences as well as the many similarities between the animals.

These materials will allow my students to see first hand the complexity of life.

I know some of my students are interested in the medical field and these donations will begin to the lay the foundation for a successful career.
