This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite these challenges, I look to provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences. From the minute they walk through the door of my classroom, I focus on their potential growth.

My students are creative, clever and want to learn!

I may not be able to control their home lives, however, I can certainly control their experience during the school day by creating a positive, safe environment where they will want to continue to learn and succeed!

My Project

With all the craziness of the world and school right now, it is so important that my students have their own set of supplies in order to keep germs from spreading. Having all of these materials will help make sure that all of my students have the necessary materials to complete assignments at home and in school. Individual pencil cases will allow each of my students to have a place to keep their crayons, scissors, glue, and pencils. This pencil box will also be transportable so when students must do distance learning they will be able to have their pencil box with them at all times.

It is so important that my students feel some sense of normalcy this upcoming school year.

In order to do so, having their own materials at their disposal will make sure that we can make them feel at home in their classroom.
