As a teacher in a low-income school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am excited and willing and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.
My students are bright, creative students that love to have hands-on lessons that emphasize science coming to life.
During class, my students are always curious, asking a plethora of questions. Hands-on activities allow my students to learn, develop concepts and appreciate science. They have the desire to learn and succeed, but they need the materials to achieve. I enjoy helping my students fall in love with science, the way that my science teachers did for me.
My Project
At my middle school, all 7th grade students compete in the Science Fair. There are several projects that are nominated to compete at the Regional Science Fair and some students then go on the Georgia Science and Engineering Fair.
My students have the most amazing scientific experimental ideas, and my goal is for them to have limitless resources.
The supplies we are asking for will directly help these students complete their projects.
Projects these supplies will support include: How Soil Composition is Affected by Earthworm diets, Magnetism and Planaria Regeneration, Types of Bacteria in a School, Preventing Overconsumption of Iron in Cereal, and several more!
I am amazed every single day at how smart my students are, I can't wait for them to be able to show the world too! Students started their research in August and will continue working on their experiments for several months. Students become so proud and feel accomplished by their hard work.
