Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Students that are new to this country and school, that do not know the language, find it is difficult for learning to occur. Spanish to English dictionaries provide a much needed strategy for these students to access the curriculum and make learning gains.
The student will use these dictionaries for every assignment, as needed, until they are fluent enough in English to comprehend the assignments independently.
This strategy fosters friendships and community within my ELL classroom, each student helping the other learn and share how to use these dictionaries together.
