My Project

I am a special education teacher for students in grades 9–12. My students have varying degrees of learning difficulties and attend an alternative program that focuses on credit recovery and dropout prevention. Most of my students struggle to get their basic needs met. Many face food insecurity, which means they sometimes come to school without enough to eat. Hunger affects concentration, mood, participation, and confidence.

This project will provide snacks and drinks to keep students’ energy steady throughout the day.

Having snacks available ensures that no student has to sit through a lesson distracted by an empty stomach. By providing snacks, we are not only addressing a basic human need but also removing a barrier to focus and participation. Your support will help my students stay engaged, alert, and ready to learn — every single day.
