Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Whenever I think about education, I always compare it to our backbone. What does backbone have to do with education? Well, just as humans cannot stand straight without their backbone. Our nation cannot stand strong without quality education. Great education leads to strong young minds. Thus, my goal is to strive for quality education for all my students no matter what their socioeconomic background is. I work in a public school where majority of our students are from shelters and are English Language Learner. Moreover, big part of population is student with disability. We call them our STARS.
My students are super energetic, curious and adventurous when it comes to learning.
I would like to highlight the importance of reading in my class because reading is the foundation to academic success in all other areas as well as the link to successful mindset. Many of my students don’t have proper living conditions, hence, the classroom is a place for them to explore. I strive every day to provide a safe and nurturing environment where my students feel welcomed. Thus, even during COVID-19 I am making sure all students have the right resources and materials to functions remotely.
My Project
Whether learning occurs at school or home, there should be no barrier from receiving knowledge. Currently, I have 51 students in remote learning and I want to make sure all my students are connected. However, I have two students who do not have equipment. With your support, one of my student can be connected to remote learning. Using an Apple iPad air my student will be able to read their favorite digital books and attend live virtual lessons. In addition, iPad air will allow them to connect to other peers. I am heavily focused on delivering high-quality education that puts my student's health, safety, and emotional well being first. Thank you in advance for your support.
