This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students work all year to prepare for the state NJSLA test. The entire test is on the computer and resources that are available online that are similar to taking the test are limited. My students need to practice doing math on the Chromebooks.

IXL software is similar to taking the test online and gives the students the opportunity to practice the technology component of the testing while also practicing their 8th grade math.

My students come from a lower income background and many of them are Spanish speaking, and are struggling with learning English. In 8th grade they are required to take a standardized test of their math skills. Doing tests on a computer is difficult for most, but becomes more difficult when you are also struggling with the language.

IXL software is similar to taking the test online and gives the students the opportunity to practice the technology component of the testing while also practicing their 8th grade math.
