Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are young and need hands-on experiences to help guide their young minds in powerful learning experiences.
I teach at a title one school in Arizona.
The students often come to me for not knowing how to spell their name or any letters. The school that I teach at students come to school with little experiences with books and other literacy skills. I teach in a kindergarten classroom with class sizes ranging from 20-30.
My Project
The students will be engaged in literacy centers that will foster their life long love for reading, which is a foundation in my classroom. The students will use the materials in small group centers to improve literacy skills. The timers could also be used for math centers. The clips will be used to organize center groups through a visual representation for the students.
It is my philosophic believe in my classroom to instill a life long love of reading.
I also believe in creating a hands on classroom experience for my young learners. I want to create a classroom in which learning is interactive yet beneficial for their success.
