My Project

The students that I service in my classroom are very diverse and come from various backgrounds. This means that not only is their prior knowledge different than their peers, but the learning styles in my classroom differ greatly as well. So the more engaging experiences that I can bring into my classes, the more students will learn the necessary math concepts to prepare them for the years that follow.

Having access to the appropriate supplies to create more engaging math notebooks will help to give the diverse learners in my classes a more hands-on mode of learning and increased success with the content they are expected to understand and apply throughout their school career.

Math can sometimes be a confusing and overwhelming subject for middle school students to fully grasp, so being able to provide engaging learning activities, like math notebooks, increases understanding and learning overall.

For this project, I have requested all the necessary supplies to introduce more engaging and organized math notebooks that students can keep and use as a reference throughout the whole year and even the years to come if they wish. This resource is especially important since math concepts tend to build on each other throughout the year and from year to year. The necessities that I need in order to successfully implement these new and improved math notebooks include pencils, lead, various types of paper, glue, colored pencils, a sturdy 3 prong folder, scissors, labels, and chart paper for enlarged examples. Receiving these materials means that we will be able to create more engaging notebooks and level up our learning!
