My Project

Our school is launching our first ever AP mathematics course: AP Precalculus!! We need to level the playing field with upgrading our technology!

Every student deserves access to the same cutting-edge tools that help their peers thrive in AP courses across the country.

This project will make that vision real in our Title I school.

I am so proud of my 30 brilliant and motivated students who are ready to take on their first college-level mathematics course. As the first AP math class ever offered at our school, this moment is historic...and our students are more than ready. Many of them do not have access to the same classroom technology as students in wealthier districts, but their talent and determination are just as great!!!

This is why I am asking for 30 NumWorks calculators.

These calculators are not just powerful, they are accessible for all students. Students would be using them every day in class to explore new concepts and solve rigorous problems. Even better, NumWorks provides a free online version which means students can continue their work with this technology at home without having to buy their own device. This kind of equity matters deeply in our community.

In trials with past students, they found this calculator intuitive and helpful. They mentioned it allowed them to focus more on understanding the on grade level math and less on learning how to use the tool or having to review older material. This project will help close the gap, deepen learning, and help my students thrive in their first AP mathematics experience.
