Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from a poor section of New York City in the Bronx. They almost all receive free or reduced-price lunch. No matter the hardships they face at home, they come to school ready and eager to learn each day.

These students are in a fifth grade inclusion class, made up of General and Special Education students with various needs.

My students love to learn, and try very hard, but need extra support in learning. By donating, you are helping these students who try so hard become better and more confident learners.

My Project

Nonfiction reading is a big part of the school curriculum. Our students need to read more nonfiction work and need it on a reading level that they are able to read.

Through the Scholastic News Magazine, my students will be able to learn all about and explore the current events in the world without leaving their seats.

These magazines will enable students to learn about these important events of the world in a kid friendly language with bright colorful photos and activities to keep their attention and interest.

My students are eager to see the world and learn all about it. Unfortunately most of my students do not have the ability to do so. By providing these magazines for them, you will be helping them experience the world and expand their knowledge of it.
