This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Scholastic News Magazine is a great way for students to stay up-to-date on important information in the world. It also supports their progress in reading skills by providing an engaging opportunity to reinforce vocabulary and comprehension strategies. My students will read at least one magazine a week in which they will read about current events in the area of science and social studies. Each magazine has a set of interactive activities online and in print that will help my students to make real-world connections and become better problem solvers.

These magazines will give my students an opportunity to expand their world without leaving the classroom!

With your thoughtful and caring donation, you will give my second graders the opportunity to participate in activities that will build a foundation of important skills.

These magazines connect current events to the second-grade curriculum while helping students practice their reading and math skills.
