Thank you for considering my proposal! I am a first grade teacher and I love sharing my passion for reading with students. One area that needs extra support is learning to read and understand non-fiction. I have found that using Weekly Reader magazines for kids is a great way to get kids excited about current events while exposing them to non-fiction articles. Weekly Reader sends out weekly magazine issues for the entire school year that integrates topics in Social Studies, Science, Math, and current events. The layout is great for my students of all ability levels, and we get to practice reading skills while learning about a variety of subjects that appeal to kids. I am also supplemented with teacher resources and activities that tie in with each issue. I would love to have a class supply of magazine subscriptions for the the 2006-2007 school year. My class size tends to be around 23 students. Thank you so much for your time and consideration! We are doing great things in my class, and you can help us continue to do so!
