This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My first grade students come from various backgrounds from inner-city Philadelphia. My students are very hardworking and motivated to learn all the time. They absolutely love hands-on activities, reading, and any project that allows them to be challenged while being creative. They have so much potential to be awesome readers, writers, and mathematicians, and I am hoping that with a little extra push they will all be successful and remember their first grade class as the best class they ever had!

My Project

Teaching in West Philadelphia, many of my students are unable to come to school with the supplies they need. Especially following the pandemic, many of the families in my community are on a very strict budget to just survive, and cannot afford supplies needed to help their little ones learn and grow.

Please help me to provide my students with the necessities every child deserves!

These books, pencils. erasers, and classroom items will help me to teach the students to read, write, count, add, and subtract. My students would be so excited to be able to have these supplies, without worry or stress being put upon their families.
