My Students

I teach a wonderful group of sixth-grade students in a high needs school in Charlotte, North Carolina. About 60 percent of the students at my school receive free or reduced-price lunch. Many students do not come prepared to class and it is very disheartening to me.

My students come in eager to learn with the materials that we have provided to them.

The teachers at our school go above and beyond the call of duty to make sure every child's need is met. The teachers want students to be successful and ready to learn every day.

My Project

I would like to start off the next school year with new classroom resources and to help with the classroom environment. The resources will brighten up the room, make the walls aesthetically pleasing with the new posters and tape, stools to allow more group work to occur, using the relaxation balls for those students who need to fidget and relieve some stress, the headphones will allow students who need read aloud. The hall passes will be used to go to different parts of the school without being able to roam the halls. These will help invite the next students to 6th grade math with excitement and ready to learn math concepts independently or with a group.
