Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our 5th grade students attend a Title I school that prides itself on making sure that all students know they can succeed. Even though the majority of the students are considered at-risk, we instill in them the belief that all students can accomplish their dreams with hard work and determination.
We also help them understand that obstacles are challenges they will conquer and overcome.
Our students are excited to learn, excited to understand, and excited to have fun!
My Project
So many times, my students start off the year with new supplies, but not the ones that are mainly used.
I would like to have pencil pouches filled with necessary supplies ready to start the year.
This project would help out my second period class.
This way they will always have colored pencils, scissors, pencils, and markers available to them when we are working on math and science. My students will not have to wait for another student to finish their work, so they can then borrow theirs.
Being able to have supplies readily available will help them stay on track and not get behind on steps to follow to complete assignments, especially when completing science activities.
