My Students

My students are incredibly curious about the world around them. There are five different languages spoken as a variety of different cultures are represented in the classroom. These differences make us create a wonderfully diverse learning environment.

As a community, we strive to learn from our mistakes in order to make the world a better place.

These students remind me every day why I became a teacher. They have open hearts, and growing minds that are eager and ready to understand the world.

My Project

Our classroom is filled with diverse learners who are eager to learn about the world around them. As a teacher this can be challenging because each of my students have different needs especially when it comes to reading. Pencils and small prizes are a way to bring fun and excitement into the classroom. Books, especially shorter but engaging nonfiction, allows students to learn about a topic at their own pace. One of our goals for the rest of the year is to diversify the books students read independently. Nonfiction is a critical part of reading and these books will be used to spark students' interest.
