My Students
Starting in September, my classroom will be comprised of 12 special and incredible students. Being that this classroom style is a bit different than a typical classroom, I will have the ability to truly individualize each child's education. With that said, I am starting from scratch, where I need to design and create the most efficient classroom possible for my students.
I want our classroom to be comfortable, friendly, and organized so my students feel safe and are excited to learn!
While I have furniture and access to brand new technology in my classroom, there are some pieces to the puzzle that are missing, in order to make the room a wonderful learning environment. Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated!
My Project
The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students already have a "home." In other words, I know exactly where everything will go! When I took a look at my new classroom, in June, I noticed some "missing pieces", that are needed to run an effective classroom, but I wasn't sure how I would find them. Donors choose is giving me the chance to fill and find those missing pieces.
By adding these learning tools, supplies, and books, I can assure my students receive the education they deserve!
Receiving these materials in my classroom will allow my students to access centers, have a more successful whole group and small group instruction, access grade level appropriate reading materials, and show their creativity with the use of new art supplies! For example, by having an easel, I will be able to hold small learning groups in different areas of the class that won't have access to the smart board. Adding in the math center/ centers storage area will allow the students to easily access the materials, as they will be organized in a specific/labeled area, rather than only accessible by me. It will give the students freedom to be independent in the room.
One of the most important pieces of this donors choose is the leveled readers. I do not have access to new, low leveled readers for my beginning readers. While I will need more in the future, this will help add to our library so my students can choose from some new, entertaining books that will help them begin to read!
