My Project
Help my class start the new year fresh and organized with classroom supplies such as Pocket Charts for Attendance/Behavior Management and our Daily Class Schedule.
These pocket charts will help with classroom and behavior management.
Knowing what will happen during the day will reduce anxiety, distraction and students asking questions such as "When is lunch?" and "When is recess?" "Is it time to go home?". It will also help with reinforcing reading and time skills, as well as practicing self-regulation.
The attendance pocket chart will serve multiple purposes. The students will learn responsibility by checking in daily by getting their nametags from the attendance pocket chart. It will remind the class to know who are the teacher helpers for various class jobs. It will also serve as the behavior management chart. Students will start on the green card. As students continue to follow the class rules and beyond, they may turn their cards to purple. If students need reminders or correction during the day, their card colors will change. At the end of the day, students will color in their Home-School Notebook binder to let their parents know what color they were on and how they behaved.
Other supplies such as a staple gun will be used to post these charts, other classroom/bulletin decor, memos, anchor charts and students' work. The poly red folders will also be used to organize their reading logs, books, reading strategies and resources. Book tape will be used for repairing books as well as holding their name plates on their desk. These name plates will give them a sense of belonging, as well as a great resource to learn writing their name, letters, numbers, colors and shapes!
