My Students
Our students come from hard-working families who don't always have a lot of money. They're good kids who want to learn! I'm proud to say that, despite our challenges, parents in other areas of our city send their children to us because they know we have a learning environment here.
We work hard at our school, and we know that learning must be enjoyable to be educational.
We get our hands on our learning every chance we get. It could be using Cheetos to dust 'pollen' from flower to flower, dancing out our anti-bullying rap, or forming an island out of play dough to demonstrate our landforms.
My Project
This is a whole new world for a lot of us and especially for our returning students. These children have been out of school for more than a year, in our case, and are returning to not only a new grade but even a new building.
These materials will help my students build themselves up as they take on the unique challenges of this year.
They left school as kindergarteners and now they'll be returning as second graders! That is a big jump and we know virtual school didn't do everything to bridge that gap (as hard as we all tried!)
