Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a teacher of 40 students, I always seek ways to engage and inspire them. I encourage students to be responsible for their work by providing folders to keep completed work and assignments. I currently use crates and folders, but a filing cabinet with hanging folders would be a better option. This way, students can independently put work they are proud of in their hanging folders. With that said, I've recently considered purchasing those needed supplies to keep student work organized. I would also like to provide students with pre-sharpened pencils to help minimize distractions during the day.

My students are incredibly creative and enjoy using Play-Doh to demonstrate learned skills.

For example, when we learn a new letter or sound, students can create an object using Play-Doh that represents that sound. I also use this same activity when they are decoding new CVC words.
