This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
I have created a Tie Tuesday program for students in grades PreK-8. These young men in grades PreK-8th wear ties and learn how to professionally dress. Many of my students cannot afford the opportunity to wear a tie so I provide one to them so that they can learn professional etiquette.
Most recently Chicago Public Schools honored Tie Tuesday, FOX News 32 featured Tie Tuesday worldwide, and the radio station “This is Chicago”.
Through this program, the young men not only learn how to tie a tie but also are mentored, and obtain professional etiquette, health skills, and holistic wellness. Each month we have different themes and I would like for them to be dressed accordingly.
