This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach in a wonderful small school where we believe that school should be a place for children to learn and grow. I teach 23 Kindergarten students that are enthusiastic learners and who love to come to school and experience new things.
One of the things that most of my students always gravitate toward is the computer. For some students, their first contact with computers is at school. However, the computers in my class are very outdated and often are not working properly. When asked what their favorite thing about school is most students say working on the computer, yet it is actually the activity that they get to do the least, due to the outdated computers.
In order to give my students more access to all the educational resources found on the Internet as well as in educational software, I would like a new computer for my classroom. A computer would benefit my students tremendously because it would allow for me to use it as part of my differentiated instruction, allowing students to go on and work on activities that would target their areas of need and help raise student achievement in my classroom.
Your help will ensure that my students have access to an updated computer. They will be able to access valuable resources found in computer software and on the Internet.
