New Technology for Kindergarten Special Education Students
My students need an iPod touch digital player to use a variety of apps to increase engagement during academic lessons and participate in group and individual activities.
Each day a variety of applications for our smart phones help us organize our work schedules, check our email and connect with family and friends. Developers have also created a variety of applications to help Kindergarten students gain important skills as they enter the world of learning.
Our students benefit from a variety of materials and techniques to meet their specific learning needs.
A large number of our students qualify for free lunch and receive special education services to provide them with an appropriate education. Our class is a group of twelve amazing kindergarten students that will laugh and sing into the heart of anyone who meets them.
Despite the budget concerns that our school faces, our teachers remain committed to providing quality education through engaging and creative lessons. We share resources with one another with the ultimate goal of having our children become excited about what they are learning and gain important skills and knowledge in the process.
My Project
The applications available on an Ipod Touch will help our students gain a variety of academic concepts and become engaged with the world around them. They can use the Ipod Touch to practice tracing the letters of the alphabet, watch a video of a unique animal that lives in a far away place or even learn how to say "Hello" in another language. We can even use the Ipod Touch to brainstorm ideas for writing activities by recording our voices and listening to our recordings to create meaningful personal stories.
