This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I’m excited about the idea of adding fresh new technology into my classroom. My students will be absolutely surprised if I can provide them with upgraded tech options. Some have no laptops and have to walk everyday to the office to borrow one, while others have old laptops with missing or nonfunctional keys and cracked screens.
New technology sparks an interest in learning!
Everyone loves new things! What better way to get a teenager motivated than with new tech! My hope is that the new laptops will inspire a few students to want to do better, try harder, and succeed.
My goal for the iPad is to utilize a new app called WordBuilder. This research based instructional app is designed to help struggling readers, specifically those in upper grades, improve their reading by learning how to break down, build, and spell multisyllabic words. The iPad will provide me with the opportunity to work one on one with my high school students to improve their reading skills using a research backed tool that will not make them feel embarrassed.
