This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The Seward Park Bears Cheerleading team is a new inclusive team that welcomes a diverse group of individuals from the campus community. Our campus is home to 5 different schools, sharing one building to create a high school campus. As a TEAM (Together Everyone Achieves More) sport, there is emphasis placed on learning to improve one’s self for the good of the whole. Our primary responsibility is to increase prosocial behavior by supporting our school's varsity basketball team in the fall, local competitions, and promoting positive school culture.
As a collective group, we will engage in building responsibility, collaborative creativity, meeting/exceeding academic and behavior expectations, being role models for healthy choices, and seek to empower others to do the same in our community.
Through our teamwork, we will help motivate fan support, foster school spirit, promote teamwork, provide inspiration and enthusiasm, and encourage good sportsmanship at ALL home basketball games and events. We will display a positive attitude, pride, accountability and respect within our team, schools and community!
My Project
Our team will use our uniforms at games and competitions for the upcoming sports season and years to come. Our uniforms will help bring team spirit and build community, by looking uniform and representing our school pride.
Our team understands that teamwork and the maintenance of discipline are the keys to the success of the spirit program.
We are dedicated to promoting spirit, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude.
Being the FIRST ever cheer team on our campus, we will create a space, community, positive energy and these materials will be important to continue building the team in the future.
