My students are the sweetest babies that you would ever want to teach. Well, most of the time. They are always happy to come to school and are very loving.
My students are not only deaf but have special needs.
They do not know sign language and they have no verbal language. They have multiple disabilities, including difficulty with mobility.
We are working mostly on communication since currently, they are lacking any communication skills.
My Project
Our classroom is currently made-up of second hand toys, borrowed furniture, and very little educational material.
Our current sorting box doesn't have the pieces to go with it.
The new sorting box will be used to help them learn colors, so we can then teach the signs for their colors.
The large pencils and jumbo crayons are needed due to their difficulties with fine motor skills.
I purchased and/or printed from the internet the only educational material we have. The sign language books will be used to increase their vocabulary in order to communicate.
Some of the requested items are to help with calming and self-stimulating behaviors.
