This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My school is a Title I school meaning that the majority of the students receive free or reduced-price lunch. I am a third grade math teacher at this school and share 75 students with two other teachers. My students are fun loving, smart, creative, and adventurous, especially when it comes to learning. My students are extremely hard workers, enjoy reading and learning new things every day.
My Project
All of my students deserve an education like everyone else! I am a first year teacher that wants to give her students the world, but I will simply start with markers and math manipulatives! I am collecting items such as math manipulatives, games, and art supplies so my students can learn, have fun, and be creative all at the same time.
The students will be using math manipulatives, such as the fraction tiles, flashcards, Math Bingo, and the clocks, during centers time, teacher-led activities, and small group intervention to practice and strengthen their mathematics skills.
The math coloring book and art supplies are for students to be creative during class and free time. I want my students to have a memorable learning experience and have fun at the same time. These learning supplies will have a positive impact on my students that will last a lifetime.
