New Teacher Needs

Help me give my students two storage containers where I can make math and ELA center work activities easily accessible. Please also give my students pencils, dry erase markers, and dry erase erasers to support their learning.

My Students

In my classroom, there are 21 hardworking, bright, caring, energetic students. They come from a variety of backgrounds and family dynamics. At my elementary school, 94% of students fall in as poverty status and 10% of the students are homeless.

The students in my classroom are all capable of learning and are able to set goals, make plans and reach these goals with hard work.

My students come to school everyday because they are motivated and eager to learn. I love all of the different personalities and varying capabilities that walk through my door every morning.

My Project

For this project, I have asked for two organizers. With these organizers, I plan to make 'toothy task kits' for math and ELA centers. These kits will allow the students to take charge of their learning during center work.

Students are more successful when they make the choices in their learning.

I also asked for more pencils. As a new teacher, I didn't realize how many pencils a 2nd-grade classroom would go through. I am constantly throwing out small pencils, broken pencils, pencils without an eraser, etc. It would be nice to have a supply of durable pencils.

In our classroom, we use whiteboards on a daily basis. We are in need of some more dry erase markers as the last set of markers did not last. With new markers and erasers, each student will have their own set that they are in charge of within the classroom. These markers and erasers will allow my students to be successful in the classroom.
