This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am new to these students. Their previous teacher, left mid-year do to personal circumstances. I am coming to this class as a recent graduate and my students are essentially starting the school year again. My students have many academic needs. They work hard every day and they are eager and excited to learn. Many are language learners, many struggle academically, and many have been through trauma. My goal with this project is to help my students build trust in me and help them build stability.

My Project

I am requesting new headphones for digital learning, writer's notebooks, and a noise monitor to maintain an effective learning environment. My students will use these supplies for digital learning experiences such as iReady, which will help bridge the gaps in student learning.

Students will also be using these supplies in ways to express themselves through academic and creative writing experiences that will help them broaden their horizons.

This project will also help students be able to collaborate together, without getting out of control when it comes to noise level.

We already know when students are out of control, it distracts from others' learning experience. Therefore, I hope this project will help my students bridge gaps, become creative, and collaborate effectively with their peers.
