As a new teacher in a new school, I want to make an immediate impact on my students with new equipment for their PE class. Half of my students come from low income homes and it would be amazing for them to have new equipment. They love to move and express themselves in an environment that is very enticing and enriching. I am looking to keep things intriguing and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences. Physical Educations plays a vital role in students' development and growth.
My students need to experience the full journey that Physical Education can bring to them.
They need to learn about all 3 domains, psychomotor, cognitive and affective. My schools slogan is our school lights up your mind and this equipment will light up my students hearts!
My Project
Being A PreK-2 Physical Education teacher, a vast amount of equipment is needed for their developmental needs. With the equipment I listed, I can do a ton of unique activities to enhance their learning.
I want to show the students I care for them by building a rapport with them from the first day of school.
Receiving new equipment for them will help strengthen my relationships with them as it is a way to show I want to bring them the best. The scooters used to be my favorite lessons growing up and it is a great way to add some spice to different activities that will help us grow in the psychomotor, cognitive and affective domains. The alphabet bean bag sets are a great way to enhance the students' vocabulary and cooperation by making them spell out words with the bean bags. A live scrabble game with different locomotor movements to retrieve a bean bag(tile) is an exhilarating game that works on developing the whole child. Hula hoops are one piece of equipment that you has endless uses and as well get ruined easily. Therefore, the more I have, the better it will be.
