This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My sixth graders are amazing, intelligent, and creative individuals who happen to live in a low-income area. Their opportunities and access to resources are limited and the school is also underfunded. My goal as their teacher is to bridge this enrichment gap by bringing essential resources and opportunities for growth into my classroom.

My students deserve the opportunity for creative and hands-on learning experiences.

I have a variety of learners in my classroom, including GATE students, English language learners, special-needs students, as well as a variety of unique intelligences. I want to diversify and scaffold my instruction so every one of my students has the chance to grow and discover in their own unique way.

My Project

My students have been working so hard this year, but as a result our supplies are dwindling and/or looking a little worse for wear!

My students need fresh notebooks, markers, colored pencils, pencils, and books so that we may continue to have immersive, hands-on, and creative learning experiences.

Many of my students do not have these resources available to them at home. Therefore, it is crucial that I guarantee access to these resources in the classroom.

Projects involving these resources will include (but are not limited to) interactive history notebooks, map-making, poster-making, foldables and reports, book-club activities, and many more.
