My Students

Welcome to our classroom! We are a 3/4 multiage classroom with 49 students. Our school is located in Northern Michigan. We are a proud Glasser Quality School with a large emphasis on character education. We have been working very hard on updating our curriculum this year. As a result, we are providing reading and math instruction using a workshop model. This allows the students to work with math and reading at their individual levels. The growth of our students using this model has been remarkable, and the students are enjoying school so much more.

My Project

These materials will help my students be successful in the classroom. They will be able to keep the whiteboards and markers right in their math bins, saving valuable learning time. Right now, they each need to get up and move around around the room to find whiteboards. With their own, they can simply pull them from their bins and get right to work! The film will help finish our birthday chart, which is great for building a classroom community. The highlighter strips will be very helpful for our struggling readers who have a hard time seeing the words on the page. They can use these to track their reading, in turn enjoying reading more, and ultimately becoming better at reading.
