This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

"WE ARE BETTER TOGETHER!" That is our school slogan! It sets the tone for our school's culture and climate. This year we are excited to have our school sports programs back in action. We are a K-12 school that shares sports equipment. As a result, our equipment is worn and can certainly use a boost and an upgrade. Our student-athletes are energetic and have a wide range of athletic capabilities rooted in teamwork and collaboration. As our sports teams compete, our school spirit will undoubtedly be lifted and embraced by all stakeholders.

The Eagles Will Fly High This Year!

The majority of our students qualify for free and reduced school lunches. As a result, our students do not have the opportunity to participate in organized sports or any travel, AAU teams outside of school. With that being said school wide athletics are their only opportunity to engage in organized sports. Our modified and varsity basketball teams are diverse athletes who will benefit from new sporting equipment. New sporting equipment will certainly be a bright spot among a difficult year of isolation and an interrupted sports season due to Covid 19.

My Project

Due to Covid-19 and a school year that kept many of our students home learning asynchronously, many student-athletes are not in game shape. Now that the locker room doors are wide open and the team schedules are complete, we need our student-athletes to be in game shape. Getting this project funded will mean that our Eagles will be ready to flap their wings and soar on and off the athletic fields. This much-needed workout equipment will inspire our students to excel in the classroom to ensure that their grades allow them to meet student-athlete eligibility to play basketball, baseball, softball, and football.
