My Project

After teaching Spanish for four years, I am thrilled to be starting a new adventure as a second grade teacher! One of the most important elements of creating a positive classroom community is starting each day with a morning meeting. We will use our carpet, calendar, and schedule to do just that! First, we will all meet on the carpet for our news report in which one student will tell us the schedule for the day including the day of the week. Then, another student will report the weather. Finally, we will take a temperature gauge of the class to see how everyone is feeling that morning.

Our bookshelf will be a wonderful addition to our classroom to foster a life-long love for reading.

On Fridays, we will have "Flashlight Friday," which is when we will turn off the lights and read quietly with our little flashlights. This activity will also contribute to our overall classroom community.

I am so excited to begin teaching second grade and to give our students the classroom they deserve!
