My students are a diverse group of fourth graders who attend an urban, public elementary school in Northern California. My students come from a variety of socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds and speak a variety of languages. They come to school with a broad range of learning experiences.
My students are eager to learn and do their best.
They want to be in school because they want to learn all they can to be successful one day. My students walk into our classroom every day full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them that day!
My Project
Every week my class participates in hands on activities and uses different materials for science and engineering choice time. My students love this time during the week. They work in groups to build and make new and exciting things. My students love to build, create and find out how things work! Adding more STEAM materials/building materials (like Plus Plus blocks) will also help foster a cooperative environment where everyone participates. These materials will create additional opportunities to work together and give them more items to explore engineering concepts. This will also foster their interest in STEAM education as they engage in creating different sorts of structures and unique creations.
