My Project
Next school year, I will be teaching a 3/4 combo class versus just a third grade class. I want to have the supplies needed throughout the school year to help ensure the success of all students. My goal is for them to not be distracted by other needs so that they can fully focus on their learning. The students at my school are incredibly special because they have big hearts and demonstrate empathy consistently.
The specific items will make a difference in my students' learning because they will have what they need to succeed throughout each school day.
The variety of snacks are requested to ensure that all students can focus on their learning versus being hungry throughout the day. All students receive free breakfast and lunch but sometimes that is not enough to sustain them throughout each learning day.
The headphones are needed to complete independent work during small group rotations in reading and math. This allows for differentiated instruction. The borax, food coloring, and cornstarch are items needed for one of my favorite beginning of the year science activities-making bouncy balls. This helps engage students in problem solving and collaboration.
The other basic supplies include lysol wipes to help keep the classroom clean, the storage bins to help keep the classroom organized, clay for art projects, and a sharpener to keep their pencils sharpened. The variety of prizes would give students options for prizes for working hard in class.
