This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Have you heard the saying The early bird gets the worm? Although the new school year is months away, I am thinking ahead to what my students will need to succeed in the following school year. A new grade, new classmates, and new teachers can be daunting. However, I want to make my future students and families feel slightly better about the upcoming school year.

A new school year can be especially daunting for families that are already struggling to make ends meet.

My school is a Title I school, and most of our students come from underprivileged homes. Children are very observant and may feel insecure or uncomfortable if they are unable to come to school prepared with the materials they need. My goal in creating this project on DonorsChoose is to help alleviate the stress families endure the first few days of school by having the materials their child needs already available to them. We are requesting crayons, folders, and composition books.
