Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are energetic and eager to learn. My students are on an accelerated academic program which means they learn more in one year than most students learn in half the time. At the same time, they are often unable to afford basic school supplies to facilitate their learning. Making sure that my students always have the materials they need to participate in class makes the time they have in class more productive. My students are more engaged when they have supplies to work with.
My Project
These materials will improve my students' school lives by not having to worry about having school supplies, so they can focus on learning, which is really why they are at school. Having a well-stocked classroom will lead to my students being able to complete their classwork.
Scissors, glue, and tape will allow my students to cut out diagrams and put them in their interactive science notebooks.
The dry erase boards will increase student participation since every student will be able to share their answers. Pencils, crayons, and colored pencils will help my students complete their work in a timely and colorful way. The erasers will help my students realize that making mistakes is part of learning and that there is a way to correct the mistake. The plastic bins will allow each group (total of 24, with 6 per class) to store their supplies. The extra bins will be used to store classroom supplies.
