My Students

My students come from a low-income area and low socioeconomic backgrounds. One hundred percent qualify for free breakfast and lunch. We lack many everyday school supplies and many of the parents cannot afford to buy their children pencils, folders, and other essential supplies for school.

Many of my students come from low-income households.

Eighty-five percent of the students are English Language Learners, so many do not receive much help at home due to language. The teachers at our school are mentors to the children. We want all our students to succeed. The school provides a caring and warm environment to learn.

My Project

We are in need of a new classroom rug. The rug in our classroom is ripped and have many stains on it. A new rug will make a clean sitting time for the students during meeting time. The students use our rug numerous times throughout our day. Having a new, clean rug will make it enjoyable to start our learning time. We meet on the rug for math talk, phonics, and writing time. Having the vacuum cleaner I will be able to vacuum the rug every day after school. Please help us get a new clean rug and vacuum cleaner to keep it clean.
