New Readers in Need of Developmentally Appropriate Books!
My students need emergent literacy books and independent level A/B reading books. My students need class book sets for guided reading groups and wiggle chairs.

My Students
My primary goal is for my Kindergarten students to develop a love for literacy. Our library is quite sparse so many of my students have not yet discovered books that capture their imaginations. The books we are hoping to receive will hopefully ignite that love for literacy that all children need.
I teach a Kindergarten ICT class.
I have a diverse population with a variety of needs. My class is in need of more sensory equipment that will help soothe and focus my students who have difficulty maintaining focus. I believe it is my duty as their teacher to build an environment that fosters learning for all students.
My Project
Our library is in desperate needs of new and captivating literature! The leveled book collections I have requested will allow my students' to participate in guided reading groups. We currently do not have age appropriate literature in the classroom, so the books requested will also help support our kindergarteners' ability to read independently. We are currently using the reading workshop model and these books are necessary for it work effectively!
Donations to this project will help improve my classroom by creating a literacy rich environment that fosters a love for reading.
My student's need high interest books in order to engage them during reading workshop. The books requested will also be utilized to target and strengthen specific reading strategies during guided reading groups. I hope that my students' will develop they same love for reading that I have with our new resources!
