My students need toys like the Melissa and Doug Pop Blocs vehicles to work on communication and language during speech therapy sessions.

My Students
We have a new 3 and 4 year-olds PPCD unit on my campus this year. My students have moderate to severe articulation and language deficits and often have associated diagnoses such as autism, down syndrome, or physical impairments.
They are curious and enjoy many activities such as playdough, sand-play, painting, and books.
They are learning to use the restroom, ask for help, make choices and to cooperate with others - as well as the usual academic readiness skills.
There is a wide variety of ability levels.
My Project
As a speech-language therapist working with 3 and 4 year-olds, I need engaging materials at an appropriate developmental level to work on choice-making, requesting, identifying, sharing, labeling, and basic sentence production.
I especially like toys in basic colors and toys that can be "halved" or separated so I can elicit requesting and cooperative play as well as simple sentences.
I work with the children in their special education classroom so the toys are carried back and forth and need to be moderate in size.
This program is new to my campus so I am still gathering toys and objects and I appreciate your help very much.
