My Students

Teaching PE everyday is a new adventure, but each class starts with learning our skill and game for the day. By the end of the year I want my students to like one sport or game more than they did at the start of the year. My biggest challenge is time. "I love this sport." I love to hear that.

I have so many students ranging from kindergarteners who have never seen a ball before all the way to 6th graders who know more about their favorite sport than I do.

My students range from those who love to play sports but lack the skills, students who struggle because of disabilities, and students who are starting at square one. Our school is a safe friendly environment where my students know that they are safe, and that Coach will help and protect them.

My Project

For this project I am requesting Wilson Badminton Racquets, Spalding Youth Basketballs, Reebok Ice Hockey Goalie Sticks, Wilson Mini Footballs, Spalding Mini Basketballs, and Wilson set of Badminton Shuttlecocks. My students will use this equipment to replace the old, broken and improperly sized equipment that we have. My students get excited when they get a basketball that both has a good grip, and holds air, or the badminton racket that is not bent and the netting is not falling off. My students are currently trying to throw a football that is meant for high school students and grown adults, and the same with a basketball.

My project will make a difference to students who do not always have a chance to get involved with sports.

I have given so many students their first look into sports and now they love it. One of my student's first time playing basketball and volleyball was in my class. She played basketball for our school team. Now that she is in middle school she enjoys going to watch the basketball games, and is herself on two different volleyball teams.
