This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach at a Title 1 school where the poverty level is high and 100% of students receive free meals for breakfast and lunch. You would never know this because my students always come in happy and ready to learn. My students have ALL gone from being virtual learners to face-to-face learners. Everyday my students arrive excited to be at school.

Each student has an inner strength and the desire to learn that helps them push forward and motivates them to achieve more.

My students started kindergarten at various academic levels and with little to no English. The majority of my students have no prior school experience.

I have high expectations for my kindergarten students and given the tools and opportunity they will reach their goal.

My Project

Students are currently offered so few options for seating especially when they have to be socially distant from each other. They have their own space where they can sit on the floor or in their chair, both of which are firm and uncomfortable after a while. The stability balls will allow students the chance to make changes to their seating in order to be more receptive to daily lessons. With the current restriction of their movements, the flexible seating will allow them to have a choice. The folders and pouches will provide them with colorful ways to keep up with their own materials and supplies.
