This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In our instrumental lessons, we are using music stands for every minute of our class time. The music stands we currently use are decades old, and while they once were good quality, they are now barely holding on. We have just enough of them to cover the amount of students that attend each class, and out of those, about 4 wobble significantly, causing music to fall of the stand and disrupt our learning time. The remainder of the stands have other issues, such as parts being loosely attached and coming apart easily. Music stands are supposed to be adjustable, to allow for maximum student comfort and readability of the sheet music in front of them. Aside from the more major issues, our stands are simply not adjustable in any way. These new stands would grant my students full adjustability so they are able to read their sheet music without sacrificing their posture and playing technique.

New music stands in our classroom would be of immediate and significant use to my students, and make a difference in their learning throughout the day.
