This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I come from a school of close to 50% of students on free and reduced lunch. These demographics have changed tremendously over the past few years. We have gone from only 9% free and reduced to close to 50% now in those few years. It is extremely difficult to get our students interested in Science. They are very bright, spontaneous, and outgoing students.

I get asked all the time by my students why our materials are so old.

I have to explain that our lab equipment is outdated from many years ago. Some of our equipment is older than they are. My students love to learn, especially with hands-on activities. Our class size is about 24 students on average.

My Project

My students need updated materials to help them complete their labs. They are very hands-on learners and our current lab is very out-dated. We have incomplete sets of materials, broken materials, or none at all for certain experiments. Most of the time, the teachers are buying their own materials. These learning science activity tubs would greatly increase the frequency of labs within our school and create active learners everyday.

The experiment cards included with the tons of materials will help them go more in-depth.

This bundle will help make key concepts easier and more fun at the same time. The guides with reproducibles and extension ideas will make them go further in their thinking and make them want to go further.
