This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are so eager and talented, but money is very tight for them and their families.

Unfortunately, most of my students are unable to take any type of arts-related class outside of school.

This means the only exposure to the arts that my students get is through the work we do with them at school. I take this responsibility very seriously. I believe that every child deserves and needs the arts to be well-rounded. This shouldn't be something that only families who are well off get to experience.

After 18 years of teaching dance, my materials are looking tattered and worn. We have holes in our materials and some are breaking apart. Our projector is from the 1980's. Please help us to replace and update these items.

Having new and functioning props and technology, communicates to my students that they are deserving of a pleasant learning environment. These updates are exciting to my students and make them eager to learn. Fresh, functioning materials are something many people take for granted but not my students.
