Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My class consists of a Dual Immersion Program, in which students learn both English and Spanish, and my school is a Next year I will teach both languages to 38 kids. For doing that, I use a lot of crafts and materials to teach these Kindergarten students the grade-level standards.
My school is a Title I campus which means that 80% of our students qualify for free and reduced lunch.
At our school, more than 50% of students are Black, Latino, and/or Native American, and more than 50% come from low-income households.
These materials will help us to complete several activities such as Mother's Day, the Last Day of School, our Celebration of Kindergarten Completion, and so on. They will help my students develop their fine motor skills, as well as their knowledge of Language Arts and Math since we will use counting strategies while they build different projects. I want to clarify that the tissue paper I am asking for will be used for doing little paper balls that my students will sort by size and color (it states that the tissue paper is used for gift bags, but I won't use it for that).
I come from Spain, so these materials will help me fill my classroom with proper materials. We are so thankful for your donations!
