Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Funding our classroom project is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives and learning of our 4th-grade students, many of whom come from low-income families. We are eager to create a nurturing environment that supports their language development, academic success, and lifelong love for learning.

The specific items we are requesting, a new library and science materials, will make a discernible difference in their learning:

Library materials: A diverse collection of both Spanish and English books, including fiction and nonfiction, will enhance students' vocabulary, language fluency, and reading comprehension. These books will cater to their interests, address various learning needs, and promote cultural awareness. Furthermore, the library will serve as a safe and welcoming space for students to develop their love for reading and learning.

Science materials: Hands-on science materials, such as kits, tools, and experiments, will allow our students to engage in inquiry-based learning, apply scientific principles, and develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills. These materials will help bridge the gap between theory and practice, enabling students to connect classroom learning with real-life experiences.

What makes our students special is their resilience, determination, and eagerness to learn despite challenging circumstances. They are diverse, curious, and passionate about exploring new ideas. Investing in our classroom project will empower them to reach their full potential and create a brighter future for themselves and their communities.
