I teach in a growing school district full of children from all over the world! Our school district is comprised of over 16,000 children who speak more than 60 different languages. Approximately 700 of those children attend my school, and their different backgrounds make up a great learning environment.
Our school is diverse, constantly growing, and full of eager-to-learn children with so much to offer!
The students that come to me every day are silly, smart and curious about the world around them. They take pride in everything they do and there is nothing quite like experiencing the world through their eyes.
My Project
I have always used a leveled library in the classroom. Thanks to the amazing donors at DonorsChoose, I have an organized classroom library that contains leveled books all the way through level P. In the past, some of my students have outgrown these books, and I have used other books in the building. I will use these new books to meet the needs of all students in my classroom, and look forward to having a complete leveled library with lots of options for all of the students to choose from!
My new students will love the options included in both the fiction and nonfiction texts I am requesting.
They will be able to pick and choose books on their level based on interest, which all students absolutely love to do. I hope to use these books to increase engagement for children as well as to provide a leveled library that meets the needs of all students.
